Yttrium Alloy: The Master Key to Thermal Stability

A precision-engineered active element designed to prevent oxidation and ensure structural integrity in the most punishing heat environments.

Ingot Manufacturing Process

CoCrNiAlY alloy ingots are produced from high-purity raw elements using PML’s precision-controlled VIM furnace.

RFQ from Customer

Specifications are defined based on application requirements such as thermal resistance, corrosion behavior, or compatibility with coating processes.

Alloy Design/Planning

A combination of Cobalt, Chromium, Nickel, Aluminum, and Yttrium is charged into the VIM furnace under vacuum or atmosphere. Trace elements can be added without breaking vacuum.

Alloy Melting by VIM

Melting occurs under high vacuum to prevent contamination and oxidation. Composition is fine-tuned using in-situ oxygen meters, spectrometry, and temperature monitoring.

Process & Quality Control

Molten alloy is cast into precision molds using an automated tilting mechanism under vacuum to achieve controlled solidification.

Primary Finishing

Ingot surfaces are cropped and cleaned. Final dimensions are verified for downstream usability.

Testing & Packaging

Alloy ingots are tested, documented, and packaged according to customer specifications and application requirements.
